I believe it is a horrible idea, as it promotes not only hiring good-looking teachers over intelligent and insightful teachers but it also will distract the student from the lesson. A teacher's wear should match the way they're teaching the class. If it's a formal teacher, formal clothes. A casual or funny teacher, casual clothes. My class actually lauchs at my teacher when he walks in wearing a suit, since it's such a difference from his twisted sense of humor.

Bad Bad Bad.... horrible actually.... Kids have enough pressure about sex and being sexy without having to deal with sexy teachers. While some teachers may not be able to help it - they should be professional at all times and not do it on purpose.

BAD! A teacher should not try to look sexy for their class! The kids will only look at the teachers body, and looking at the teacher doesn't mean they are learning anything. Plus, that seems kinda perverted, trying to get kids sexually interested in their teachers. That is gross.

When i was in high school a teacher that i had wore very provocative clothing and she actually lost her job. She was told that she needed to keep things coverd up. She did not listen and lost her job. Now it's on file of why she lost her job in the first place. Teachers are there to teach not to look sexy. It's school not a strip club.

As a student in high school I'd say that the only realy way to keep a kids attention is to make the class intresting make it really interactive instead of lectures I mean once we reach high schools its lectures all the way. Besides our hormones are "raging" at this time like you adults say they are and having attractive teachers might make things worse. I know it would for me because I'm crazy about the male anatamy rite now. So No.

Good. Many studies have been conducted that support the theory that people pay more attention to teachers who are good looking. Obviously, it helps to grab their attention right from the beginning. After that, it's only a matter of keeping them interested with what you're teaching.

Bad idea. They could surely increase the students' attention but then the students wouldn't be able to concentrate on what they're teaching. What good would that do if the last thing the students remember is what the teachers wore in class?

It's a very bad idea (ever hear of Mary Kay Letourneau?)

Teachers are there to teach not dress like sl*ts.

This article of yours sounds off base. My husband is a new teacher as of this semester, and it was specifically stated during his new teacher orientation that they MUST dress professionally at all times (no jeans or tennis shoes ever), provocative clothing is NOT allowed, and ALL cleavage should be fully covered (chest, behind, and toes!!!).

In my opinion it would be more distracting...and I doubt they are told to dress sexy....Teachers and being sexy in the classroom doesn't sound right to me at all !
