"Normal" is different for everyone. Also, some classes just have more time-consuming homework than others. Ask around among other students or form study groups to make the load more manageable. Do what you need to graduate and down the road people will know you are a "College Graduate" and with rare exceptions your GPA(grade point average)will never come up in conversation. Persevere, get extra help or tutoring, talk to your instructors but stick it out and graduate. Besides,"normal"is a myth......Never give up!

Eight hours per day is a lot, but not extraordinary. It seems like you might be able to get some of it done during the day if your time is used well. If three classes take up three hours each day, that leaves 5 hours till the end of an 8-hour day, and three hours for home work. If you shift to a 9-hour day, that leaves 2 hours of work per night, for a total 10 hours of homework for the week. If shift those 10 hours to the weekend, you would not have to study at night. I didn't have the discipline to work this way, but one of my roommates did, and he did social things almost every night. Most people thought he never studied but actually, he studied more than anyone else I knew.

Depending on what you are studying, if there is a lot of reading that can happen, but it should not be all the time.
Maybe getting a tutor would assist you in your study planning.
I was surprised to learn that the students that asked for tutors were mostly the A and B students and they asked for them at the start of the year.
Good luck

it depends on what your major is... I am only taking two classes and it takes me forever to get my homework done, but my major is History, so I knew that I would have to write a lot of papers and read all the time. If you feel like you are struggling there are help groups for your hw problems. They can help you better understand your hw and give you advice on how to accomplish it quicker.

you should figure about two hours of homework/study a night for each class you are taking.
