She was playing basketball and a pain shot up coming from her heel. It happened on Friday and she said it still hurts.

What to do, what to do?

Pain coming from the heal and shooting up the leg?
Hopefully just a heel bruise. Or a strained ligament.

Another possiblity is the achilles tendon has a tear.
This requires a long recovery - months.

That sympton also could indicate the sciatic nerve (runs through the spine) is pinched - sending a pain through the leg.

Treat it with both heating pad and ice bag - alternating twice each day. If it persists a few more days, I would suggest having it checked out.

Being only 11 yrs - the latter two injuries would be very unusual.
I am not a doctor, but I have experienced each of these from sports related injuries.

Good Luck - God Bless.
