I'm 20 weeks along and just had an ultrasound today. My baby girl for the past couple of days has been putting alot of pressure on my cervix. During the ultrasound it showed that her head was on my cervix as like it would be before childbirth. My doctor isen't the one who does the ultrasound and I won't be able to speak with her for a few days now. I'm just curious what's going on and why she's been in that position and why she's putting all that pressure there for the past couple of days.

Babies in the womb change position often. If they allowed you to go home, and they aren't calling you right back in, I would not worry about it. The doctors and tech that does the ultrasound would definitely act on the side of caution if there were any real danger of an early birth (I assume that is your concern).

More than likely, the baby is just in the position that it will be in for the next 12 weeks or so. As long as there are no contractions, and the water doesn't break, you are fine. Ask your doctor about it on your visit, and find out if there is anything you should do for caution sake.

Good luck, and congrats!! Daughter's are fun! I have a 16 month old. . .

Its okay for the baby to be in that position the baby will be moving around all over the place until you hit like 32 weeks that is usually when they get into the head down position permanently for labour to begin. If it changes position and goes into a breech position they will do an ultrasound if they suspect and action will be taken to remedy it. I had those cervix pains my whole pregnancy and it just means the baby likes to be in that postion for now and sometimes they kick and bounce and that is probably why they are hitting your cervix.

I think she finds it comfortable and warm to be in that position. My daughter did the same thing throughout my whole pregnancy. I would get very sharp stabbing pain once in a while from all the pressure. But i was only 3 days early when i went into labor. I don't think it's anything to worry about I believe your daughter is just comfortable like that.

call and talk to a nurse in your doc's office. i carried my baby very low throughout the pregnancy. it was very uncomfortable sometimes because he was putting so much pressure on my cervix and my bladder. there's nothing you can really do about it though. get used to going to the bathroom every five minutes.

my baby did that when i was pregnant! annoying as it meant i permanently needed the loo, and got really bad stomach pains.
your baby is properly more comfortable in that position, and if it was any think to worry about the midwife who did your scan would of mentioned something. but non the less if you are still worried, speak to your midwife when you see her next, or ring the doctors your registered with.
your baby will move around a lot, and most of the time it will be in awkward positions!!!

its called ECP (evil crotch pain) she is in position which is COMPLETELY normal maybe she is comfortable in that position. ECP is when your bones feel like they are being sawed in half and you cant walk.... and THAT is completely normal too. Try and lay down as much as possible to relieve some of the pressure on that area

BEST WISHES!

Give her a few days...she'll get bored with that position and find something else to do...like dance on your bladder.

I am not sure but don't worry about it until you talk to your doctor. If it was a cause for concern they would have done something after they found out.
