i'm asking because i want to know what the most efficient temp would be, at the same time being toasty during the winter months.

The lower you keep your thermostat, the more money you will save. However, the colder you will be. The temperature you select for comfort is completely up to you; just remember, if you are cold and turn the temperature higher, you electric bill will be higher.

The government wants everyone to keep their stat set around 68 degrees. That's a bit chilly for our house so we keep it at 72 degrees.

During the oil/gas shortage in the mid 1970's the federal govt. passed a law stating winter temp should be 68 summer 78. As far as I know these are the optimum temps that the AC. and heaters work at. This law is still on the books. It has not expired or been repealed

Usually around 72.. supposedly the ideal temperature for humans is 74 degrees though.

I just asked my honey and he said the temp is set at 75, keeps us warm :)

Mine is always set right at 65. I like to keep it cool (but after I just looked at your 360 page........got kinda hot in here)

68-but my heat/air has been goofy alot this year, though have had it checked it doesnt work so good, so often leave it off and use fireplace and electric heater
