i drank castor oil after the pains started. It didnt do anything for me it didnt give me the shits either. I know a lot of people that drank castor oil and it worked for them. I did that last night. i have been having these pains on and off for a while now. I keep asking my doctor what i should do and he told me to take tylenol and a hot bath then lay down and get some sleep. But i cant just go to bed like that i have to stay awake till i pass out. Even then im very lucky to get sleep. She constinately moves. Plus i feel like i have to through up. i am scared and dont know what to do.

It was not very smart to drink castor oil at 34 weeks pregnant. Your baby is not even full term yet and castor oil is known to induce labour..I had those symptoms for two days..I did not even know I was in labour it was not what I was expecting heck it barely hurt so I thought it was only braxton hicks..I was rong I was in labour and had my baby 19 hours later, I did not even bring my packed bagged ith me to the hospital because I did not believe I was in labour but every one told me to go to the hosptial and I was 37 weeks. But because you are only 34 weeks do not listen to your doctors advice because he sounds like a fool and go to the emergency room right away. if your baby is coming three weeks before its even full term then you need to go to the er now...Doctors here where i live even stress that if you are under 37 weeks and having any symptoms to get to a health care proffessional immideitly because of the complications that arise in premature babies.

I have never heard anyone say that castor oil worked for them! I think this is possibly just a wives tale. You could be about to go into labor or you might just be getting so anxious. The baby is getting ready which is going to cause the pressure and back aches! I know both times I was pregnant I could of sworn I was going to go any minute for like the last month! Part of it is just because this time feels so different than the other months, And another part I think is just you are so anticipating it that every pain makes you think OH MAYBE THAT'S IT! haha.. enjoy your alone time right now and get plenty of rest!! I know thats a lot easier said than done. I really like Aromatherapy products at the later part of my pregnancy. I would get the fizzy bath balls and candles and take a nice long bath and then the lotions and go to bed! It felt great .. you need to relax right now :) Good luck!!

The castor oil myth is just that. Castor oil will NOT bring on labor. It will give you the shits though which at this point in time can be extremely uncomfortable. Stop listening to all the "old wive's tales" If you want information on pregnancy, labor and birth ASK YOUR DOCTOR. That's why they go to school for all those years.

Drinking castor oil at 34 weeks is not a good thing. Don't try and start labor because there is a good chance your baby will have to stay in the hospital.

When your babies lungs are fully developed your baby will let out a hormone which will start your labor. Until then just let it take it's course and let them baby come when he or she is ready.

who told you to drink caster oil? I wish you would not have, it is not putting you into labor rather sending you to the toilet soon. You are only 34 weeks pregnant your baby needs to stay in the oven at least 2 weeks longer! If you are at all concerned go to labor & delivery but more than likely it is the onset of the castor oil it is equal to taking a max. strength laxitive!!!! SO get ready for the pain...just not labor pain! Sorry!

You drank castor oil? Your nuts all that does is gives you the sh***! And why are you trying for labor at 34 weeks? Do you want a sick baby with under developed lungs?

Ohhhh...Castor Oil so early is not a good thing. Most drs would actually stop labor this early. Did you drink it before or after these back pains started?

You should have not used Castor oil unless recommended by your doctor. The pain is all normal unless you have a UTI and if need to you should call your doc 1st thing in the morning to see what they want o do

go to the hospital just to be safe they can explain it better than anyone here honey., Also iot could be false labor or braxton hicks which are contractions without labor. But go to the ER and tell them... Better safe then sorry... God bless and good luck and castor oil is a old wives tale always heard it but never tried it and wont so i dont know on that.

It could be braxton hick contractions and the baby movin into the birth canal. It could also be u going into labor from the oil that u drank. I would lean more to the braxton hicks, since they are not regular. When u have a real contraction, u will know! Your stomach will get ROCK hard and u will feel more pressure. Hope this helps u some.
