Everything still on Cinderella at midnight turned back to it's original form. The one thing (the glass slipper) was in the possession of the prince, and therefore not transformed.

Everything she was wearing changed back, but since she lost the one slipper during the time everything was changing, the magic remained in it... and since they were a pair, the other glass slipper stayed the same too...

I think the Fairy Godmother planned it that way so that the prince would be able to find her and all her dreams could come true!

The slipper was made of a glass/titanium alloy, which is only able to transcend the boundaries of celestial planes in one direction. So, magic brought it into this world, but when everything else was recalled back into the other plane, the slippers stayed.

The slippers weren't made from anything. Like the coach was from a pumpkin, the driver from a mouse, and the dress from, well, a dress. The slippers were a gift. Plus, it's a fairytale. You can't really analyze fairytales.

In the original version, there is no magic, birds bring her the stuff.
Ask Disney...
Obviously, the Prince needed a way to find her, but what about this answer:

Because the shows were separated, their magic was suspended. They disappeared at midnight after the two shoes were reunited.

Then there would be no story. Naw, I thought about that before, but my friends hate going or seeing a movie with me because I be bringing out ALL the reality checks.

I've thought about this before... The fairy godmother lets her keep them as a gift... She really has 2 of them, but the Prince has the other one...

It was a gift to remember her night by and also I believe it was used to help convince the prince that she was really the owner of the other shoe he had.

it was suggested that it was a gift of remembrance from her godmother so she would always remember the night. or the fairy godmother knew what was going to happen somehow...
