I work with these guys that are always picking on me. I will say "oh doesn't the rink look good?" and they will always say stuff like "oh you make our work look good.." or "where is your boyfriend? those guys are checking you out.." or they will run up to scare me, throw stuff at me, poke my back or sides, say sexual innuendos, laugh at me when they are all together, etc. They know I am a "good girl" and I don't do that kinda stuff. So, The more "flustered" I get the more they laugh. WHY?! One of them told me that I was "fun" to pick on. What makes a girl fun to pick on and others not? And why am I being teased??
I work at a Skating Rink and we are all in high school.
BTW--I am always pretty friendly and I smile and laugh a lot..so I like to have a good time, but I tell them to stop when it gets inappropriate. But I wonder why they would tease me constantly.

We are all pretty cool with each other, but sometimes they cross the line, and I don't wanna seem like I'm being mean or cold, but I don't want them to treat me like a piece of meat either.

Absolutely tell them when you do not appreciate their comments. Make it very clear. If they continue, it is harassment.

They do it because they think it's fun, and because you're an easy target. Smiling and laughing tells them that it's OK to keep on doing this, so stop that.
If you want them to stop, tell them. Tell them that once in awhile it's funny, but after awhile it gets really, really old. If there's someone in the group that has an education past 10th grade, tell them that their humor is like a geometrical progression. When they look puzzled, tell them that once makes them a wit, but twice makes them a halfwit.
If it still doesn't stop, then you start documenting it - who, when, what was said. Tell the person who said it to stop each time it happens, and let them know that you're writing this down, too. After a month or two, you go to the boss. Tell the boss that this is really bothering you, and you want it to stop before it becomes harassment. Then show the boss that you've documented what's happening for the last month or two, and say that it's getting hard to do your job because this is really annoying.
If your boss has any smarts at all, he'll tell the rest of the crew to stop. If it continues, you have grounds to sue for harassment or because this makes for a harassing work environment. Then you have to decide - do you pursue the complaint legally, do you quit and find a new job, do you just put up with it, or do you learn to dish it back out to them.
This is a pain in the butt to do this, but if you want it to stop, you have to take some action. It'll probably mean that you won't be buddy-buddy with these people as much, so understand that things will change because of this. You have to decide what should change, though. You need to be more proactive about it.

What they are doing is sexual harassment. It is wrong and unacceptable in any work environment.
When they say something tell them that they are being unprofessional and that they must stop talking to you or any other female like that or you will report them and they will possibly be fired. That should be enough to shut them up. If not, then go talk to your boss.
Don't be afraid. A real woman stands up for what is wrong....if you continue to accept it you are going to make these guys think it is okay to degrade all women. They need a wake-up call.

They tease you because you respond to it. You respond to it with supressed anger and frustration. They, being shallow and mean, like to see it. It makes them feel powerful. This is why it is fun for them.
If you don't respond to it in the same way you did before they will stop doing it.
If they pick on you physically tell them you'll kick them in the n**s next time. Look like you mean it.
*******
If you say you are pretty frindly with them then explain it to them in a calm voice that this is innaceptible. You are all part of the work environment and some jokes are simply unwelcome.

People tend to pick on people more when they know it bothers them. First dont let it fluster you so much, just laugh with them. Second try some reverse psychology and get them all laughing at one of the guys. They are most likely picking on you because they like you, so don't sweat it and just laugh along with them.

one of them probably likes you, of not all. Lol. But there are people like that everywhere, either you can retaliate if you have the boldness, if not just tell ur manager.

They all "want" you and the only way that their ignorant mouths can say anything to you is by picking on you. Tell them to go f*ck themselves.
