I am some what successful, I pull in mid 70 grand a year, and I'm not starving.

I agree with betty1. I wouldn't question it, just be glad that your motivated.

Maybe this is what motivates you to do better. Maybe there are folks in your life that you know would like to see you fail and by God, you'll show them! Motivation can take on many forms.
