Me too....
It is removal of my covering, opening of true and vulnerable "self". THAT self, has NO defense.( hence the Armour) Removing it is just plain scary.
AND...once spoken, words remain forever. Worlds change, never to be recognizable again, at the simple use of words.

the gut-wrenching feeling you feel is because you are exposeing your true self to the world around you.
It is like your being torn from the inside out and are on display to everyone

Because it leaves you vulnerable and open to criticism and since you normally confess to those who are important, any criticism or negative reaction leaves you devastated.
