Researchers seem to have found an answer as to why some people look older than their chronological age. A report by UK researchers published in the Postgraduate Medical Journal states that total cholesterol and hemoglobin in men and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ERS) and serum bilirubin in women are related to looking older.
Study was conducted on 318 male and 129 female civil servants between the ages of 37 and 58 years of age. Two female nurses and 1 male doctor estimated the subjects’ age. Among men, the mean estimated age was 0.37 years higher than their actual age. However, for women the mean estimated age was 0.54 years lower than their actual age.
Smokers of both sexes tended to look older and as expected, graying hair, baldness, arcus senilis and loss of skin elasticity were also associated with looking older. No relationship was found with alcohol consumption, job grade, and other biochemical variables, including serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol, glucose, albumin, or calcium.

you're probably right. but, some people just look old for their age. i remember this one guy i knew when he was 22, and now that he's 25, he looks a hella of a lot older. some people just age faster than others (if not smoking or drinking, it might be stress)
