Sometimes I'm wrapping a small box and it doesn't take up the whole piece of paper that I cut off. If it's a large enough piece to wrap something else with I wrap the piece around the tube again. But, it's kind of annoying to keep around the tube.

What do you do?

Depending on the size, I'll roll it up and stick it inside the tube. If it's too small I recycle it. (What's up with all the people saying they throw it in the trash? At least recycle!)

Put an elastic band around it when it's on the tube.

Or if it's really small, get a flat box like a big square cookie tin, to keep bits of wrapping paper, any extra tags or cards, and a roll of tape in. Very handy.

If it's too small a piece to wrap another gift in, I throw it out.

We have a storage area that we keep fair sized pieces in so that if we buy small gift we'll just use one of those. If the leftover piece is too small for even a small gift, we'll throw it out.

You can add several pieces to one tube, so that it doesn't take up as much space. You can designate a drawer or box to put the extra paper in.

make matching name tags from it and also i cut it down to squares and use it for scratch paper to jot a name or number or something as i hate to waste paper of any sorts. i just make a bunch of post it size note pads, staple them in a small book on one corner and whenever i am in a hurry and need a piece of paper to write on, i just tear off the paper and my problem is solved.

Recycle it or I just fold it up and hope for a smaller box like a jewelry box that I can wrap.

I save it because sometime I may need just such a size for something I am wrapping.
