The Noble (Inert) Gases are all mono-atomic. There are six of them: Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton, Xenon and Radon.

Hydrogen is diatomic as a molecule, but it only has two protons.

As far as basic chem taught me..... the smallest unit of ELEMENTS are atoms and NOT molecules. Perhaps diatoms for Hydrogen?
