if you're good and want to pursue a musical career.....totally. it may help you get in faster and with a higher level if you don't go into music, however.

1st, yes it can. Look into local ensembles you can be in/try out for, band camps, etc. Usually being in these looks good getting into a college music program, and they'll be more inclined to give you financial aid. There are also a lot of performing arts competitions you can enter in and there is usualy a monetary reward. Google it. There are tons of ways that your music can help you get to college.
2nd, you're in 8th grade! don't worry about it yet! you have more than enough time.

It will depend on the school and their particular needs.
I suspect the highest likelihood of this type of scholarship is for instruments that very few people play, for example the organ.

Yes,but not just music scholarships. Many organizations that give out scholarships,look for well rounded students to award their scholarships.

Possibly, but remember, lots of people play the clarinet, and a college symphony only needs two, really. If you're not stellar at it, I wouldn't count on it helping you.
