Recently my husband was in the woods and found a holly tree so he took a cuting from it. My question is how do we go about rooting it ? We live in Ohio where the temp is in the 20's.

Holly cuttings are normally taken in the late fall. In order to root them, you will need to dip in rooting hormone and stick them in a mix of Canadian Peat and perlite. You can create a minature greenhouse by putting a clear plastic bag over the container. Keep inside moist and bottom heat at about 75 deg.
Good luck.

If you have a flouresent light in your laundry room, put the cutting in a pot of soil using root tone and put it on top of your drier. And be sure and scratch the bark off on the lowest 1/2 inch of the branch, which will go into the root tone. The heat from the drier will help it root faster. I never use fancy soil.

the chances of geeting it to root outside and living are not good indoors in a bottle of water to cover the cut could work
