I am 12 years old and I know several people who have had their period. My mom had hers right before she turned 12 and I JUST turned 12 a couple of days ago! I wanna know when I am gonna have it! I know none of you are phychic (however you spell that) but please comfort me!! lol

Honey dont worry every person is different, some get their period as young as 10 some not till 15 or so. More than likely it will wait till your least expecting it. Dont worry and stop stressing over it, enjoy the time you have now of not having it, it really gets to be a big bother every month for many many years.

I used to want mine, and I used to think that it'd just happen whenever I'd try to go to the bathroom. It really isn't so exciting, a bit uncomfortable, actually. I wouldn't rush into wanting to get it, but be sure you're ready for if and when you do. Be sure to carry around a sanitary napkin with you at all times, in the event that you should come on it away from home. Don't be surprised if it takes a while, though, some girls don't get it until they're 17 or so.

Don't rush this development. When your body's ready it will happen and then you'll wish it hadn't. Menstruation is not a symbol of womanhood. It is just nature's way of preparing you for motherhood. Relax and calm down. Ask some other women in your family about their first periods to get a better idea of what yours will be like. My aunt always had cramps so bad that she could barely move and headaches strong enough to make grown men cry. I think the worst part is how it stains clothing.

Well it just depends, I was around 12 1/2 to 13 when I got mine. People as early as 8 can get it. Don't worry, it will come, and then you want like it. lol. So don't stress, it will be here sooner or later.

Just calm yourself for a second. I am now 14 and I first got my period when I was 12. My mom got hers when she was 16. It doesn't really matter when your mom got hers, but sometimes you start the same time just a different age. Also, periods aren't that bad. Acutally I am on mine now. :] Good Luck!

I didnt get my period until i was 16. All my friends were getting their periods left and right and i was periodless until 16!! Dont rush it!! :)

just be happy you dont have it. i didnt get mine until i was 15, although my mom got hers at 13.. so you might just get yours later.
