After years of buying real Christmas trees, my parents bought us an 8' fake tree. It is very beautiful but nothing can compare to the smell of a real Christmas tree. I live in a very small town (moved away from the big city 15 years ago, took some adjusting but i don't plan on goin' back) so I actually live in a 'modular home' ie: mobile home that burns hotter and faster than the tree that caused the fire, so I guess I have just adjusted to that too... No regrets.

WOW! $70 for a pine tree? The tree farmer certainly has the right idea. We have an imitation 8 foot high which looks pretty real and we assemble it every year. From memory we paid about $70 for it too!
Any way, merry Christmas

I live next to a nursery that charges an arm and a leg for trees, but the manager is a sweetheart so we are getting ours for free(knock on wood) next week, already picked it out. it would have been in that range though.

Christmas comes but once a year and I applaud you for spending 70 on a REAL tree! I would if I had to. Plus a 12 ' tree is huge so in my area that sounds like the going rate.

fake trees- yuk - sorry

I paid $70 for 7 foot pre-lit artificial tree. The last artificial tree we bought, we paid about $100 and it lasted for 20 years. We saved money, but there was no tree smell.

This year we bought a 7.5 foot artificial white tree at Garden Ridge for $160. It is really beautiful. Next year, hubby wants a real tree.
