No I bought a Windows XP from Gateway and my son installed it and for some reason it has a shadow across the screen.He installed his and nothing went wrong.And also the games with cards are bright expecially the hearts and dimonds.

So far, if I understand what "a shadow" means, you need to use the monitor's adjustment buttons to adjust your screen: up, down, side to side, and center and fill, and also the brightness/contrast. Ask the son to do it.

Sounds like it could be an issue with the video card driver. It may not have installed the right driver for you card. Go to the web site of the manufacturer of your PC and check under your model number. They should have the correct video drivers available there for free download.

Download and install the video driver for XP.

this was caused by wrong installation of wire.re-check to see that everything is in appropriate order
2)if problem persist format PC.
NOTE:if you boot/format PC you will lose every folder on the PC

install the vga drivers tha your problem will be solved
