i would suggest going to your local parts store and pick up a chillton's or a haynes manual

Uh, is that "Pontiac Manuel" a Mexican guy who works at GM?
Or do you mean "Pontiac Manual"????
Might I suggest that you look at eBay -- those are sold there all the time. You'll need to be more specific -- ie, 1983 Pontiac 6000, etc.
