My gf doesn't seem to have a good sense of style and I don't really know how to tell it to her. I don't really like the jeans she wears because they have ugly pockets, are too high up, and are tapered too much. I don't like her tops because they come down to far and just don't look cute. I don't want her to dress sexier or anything, I just want her to look cuter. She dresses like a librarian and shes 21! Yesterday we were shopping and she told me the top she was wearing was a maternity shirt and she bought it cuz it was cheap! I don't think she needs to spend a lot of money to look cute. My sisters are not rich but always manage to pull it off. How can I change this? I want to buy her new clothes but I don't really know anything about fashion. I do know when I think someone dresses decently or not and I just wish she dressed more appropriate for her age.

1: I really don't think it's up to you how she dresses... it's her style to dress like that. She likes it, she's happy with it, shouldn't you be happy for her??
2: If you really want to, Christmas is coming up, give her clothes that you think are "cute". When she trys them on, tell her they look great on her. If she likes them, problem solved, she'll be buying that more. If she doesnt like it, you just gotta deal with it. Maybe she just doesn't want to change.... be happy with the fact that she is happy.
3: Definitely don't tell her you don't like her style. Don't tell her she doesnt dress cute. Don't tell her you want her to change. If you do, you're just begging for a slap across the face, a kick in the shins, and a break up.

Well personally what a person wears so isn't what makes them the person you want to be with. I say though you should take her shopping & have her try on things you pick out. Or maybe bring it up when you two are talking. Go window shopping @ the mall & point out things that you think will look nice on her.

You're treading on dangerous ground. How she dresses should be up to her, and she isn't likely to welcome your advice on the subject if she detects that you think she "looks like a librarian". (I take it that isn't a compliment in your opinion,) The best you can do is, if you can go shopping with her, tell what you think looks "cute", and then back off and let her buy what she wants.

It relies upon on what style she likes once you're somewhat dressing for her. places like previous army, Bluenotes, American Eagle have that layed decrease back and casual look that seems large yet once you're searching for some thing fancy try RW&Co, Gary Waters, Calvin Klein etc. It relies upon on what you're going for on your look yet some average places i am going to imagine of include previous army continuously 21 Bluenotes Stiches American Eagle Mark artwork wearhouse Gary Waters Aeropostale Abercrombie Hollister etc

Compliment her on the outfits you do like. Some people just aren't into clothes. You can buy her the stuff you like but that doesn't mean she's going to wear it.

So she doesn't want to pay much for clothes.... the best place to go is to Ross, Wal-Mart, Target, and whatever store she thinks isn't expensive and has good clothes. She'll properly find something good.

You may not know fashion, but you know what you like. I have to assume you have eyes. Look in magazines and newspapers. Look around you when you're out. If you're with your lady, see what she likes. But, most importantly Joe, when you see something you like (or agree on), BUY IT!
