Just curious, why is it you see urinals in commercial establishments, restaurants, gas stations, etc., but you never see one in a private residence?

Well, if you were to install a urinal in private residence, that just means that you have to install another toilet bowl so you can use it when you need to take a dump. Another reason would be if you have females in the home, how'd they gonna use that? Mainly its economical as the bowl can be used by all for all purposes as opposed to paying twice to install a urinal AND a bowl.

I have seen one at a private residence, though it was not inside the house. There was no sewerage in the town at the time and insufficient water for a flush toilet. So the urinal prevented the sanitary pan from filling up with urine. It was a long time ago.

I don't really think I'd want one round the house......hygiene and just not worth the space it'd take up..................but then again, have you ever seen the 'toilets' in Europe? There the weirdest things, its on the ground and it has footholds on the sides, and in between the footholds...............well.
