If he's like my dad and likes to read, than get him like a 10-20 dollar book store gift card. Or you can put like ten dollars on it and have your sibs put more money on it so you can all give it to him as a present and hav it seem like more money. I do that every year. He probly gets tired of it but hey, he uses it. Also get him a card or make him a card. Well that's if he likes to read.

A box of chocolate covered cherries. All Dad's like them. Then give him a homemade coupon book---a coupon good for a car wash; a coupon good for an hour of yard work; a coupon good for an hour of whatever he wants to do; etc. Have fun with your imagination!

Cheap or inexpensive? A simple home made card expressing your love for family works for me! It should be heart-felt!

buy him some lotto tickets. tell him that even if he won a bunch of money he wouldn't be any richer in love than he is right now. or write him a poem about what he means to you or make a collage of pics of you and him. or get him some super warm gloves or nice, comfy warm slippers. or get up early for the entire month of december and make his coffee for him.

Does he work where dress shirts and matching ties are required? Does he like to take coffee to work--how about an insulated thermos with a car holder for it? Does he like to go places and have his car / truck / van washed? They will usually do "the works" reasonably.
