I know how to write an essay & I've had to turn a 300 word essay into my Philosophy class now for every week for this semester. My problem is that now he wants us to turn in a reflective summary about the course. Put how Philosophy has impacted me. Plus a statement about "My Philosophy." I usually have no problem writing, but for some reason on this assignment I'm at a loss for words. I thought maybe someone could help me get my juices flowing to at least get started. I'm really not sure how Philosophy has impacted me or even what my philosophy really is. Help~

I have attended classes for those that have said I haven't. We have discussed Nietsche, Truth, God is Dead, Values, Violence, & Our Future, Absence of Humility, Enlightened Egoists, Pride, Morality, moral reasoning, etc...plus discussed the movie called "What the Bleep Do We Know." So, I know what topics to discuss for summary of the course. I'm just having a hard time with exactly what my philosophy is & how philosophy has impacted me.

Here,
Write about:
What it means to you
How it has effected society
What is has meant to culture
How it ties in with traditions (if it does)
What has changed in your life since you started learning about philosophy

Just be "deep"
I can't really help, because I do not know what your course is about.

A "reflective summary about the course" would mean we'd have to know the contents of the course in order to be able to help you.

You say you are not sure how philosophy has impacted you or even what your philosophy really is. I would start be asking whether you have even attended the lectures and done the readings. Because a generalized ramble of 300 words on the subject of philosophy itself is not what's wanted, I think. What's wanted is for you to demonstrate that you have done the work and have thought about what you have read and heard in lectures. If you have not done the work, how can we help?

You might, just once, get away with 300 words on why you do not understand the assignment, and go into meta-questions such as "what is the definition of philosophy," but eventually you will have to attend the lectures and read the textbooks.

You can probably hedge on what "your philosophy" is by giving 300 words to questioning whether this is supposed to be about moral philosophy or existentialism or analytic techniques in philosophy, and by stating that you simply do not yet know what "your philosophy" really is. But you'd better be prepared to show off what you have learned so far.

It could be that this course has stimulated you to question and re-formulate your philosophical impressions and opinions. An instructor might be interested in this personal experience, seeing as how it's an 'in the making' kind of thing, one in which the knowledge dispensed in his/her class was critical.
Perhaps your philosophy was of a more accepting nature, going with the flow in life. Perhaps now, after such critical examination, you're considering a more deliberate stand in life. Or not. Just trying to get yer juices movin' . . .
good luck homework man!

Think of things that cause other people fear. Death is a good theme to get you started on a personal philosophy. Sit and think about happy and sad things. If you feel any emotion, put words to how you should feel and why you believe it.

Use emotions to get your mind clicking, and I'm sure you'll be able to put words to how you view the world.

Well, to start with you should discuss what you have learned in the class and how you will use it in your day to day activities. Anyone can be philosophical, just in the ways they interpret everything that goes on around them. How do you feel about the world around you? These are points you could touch on in your paper

well you could try doing things that relax you to get the creative juices flowing. and if that doesnt work you could try a method i dont know if people still use but i do so you could try meditating or even yoga to get a good support beam / train of thought going and it helps get O2 to your brain and clears the mind.

For me philosophy taught me how to think for myself. My guess is you need to do some of that for yourself.
