i think i need a new processor for my old compaq computer i have a intel (R) what sude i buy? what is the main thing i need to buy to upgrade my computer? ram? and how do i install the processor and how much are they. i need to know if my processor is ok or if i need a better one if i need a better one plz give me the name of the best one that i can get for my computer. oh ya one more thing do i need a new mother borad and whats the best one i can get and how do i install it.

Personally, I feel that messing with hardware on a notebook is never worth it (with the exveption of RAM). It shouldn't cost too much if you get one now, unless you wan't a Core 2 Duo.

if its an older processor then u should get a new updated board/ram/and processor .... chances are if its a pretty old board more than 3 or 4 years, you wont be able to find an upgrade processor for it anyway and if you do it will almost cost as much as a late-model one ...

Sounds like you want to do a complete computer upgrade. If you are not experienced replacing components at the motherboard level, you may want to have a qualified technician work on your machine. Also, make sure you can cost-justify such a dramatic upgrade. You can go to www.Dell.com and buy a brand new machine for a few hundred dollars.

its not worth upgrading something that old if you need to put in a new processor. buy a new machine, in the long run it will be better and cheaper.

If you gonna build a pc and dont know how that skrew it. just buy a new computer the more you pay the better comp. u gonna get.
