He is good but not in the top 10. I also agree with the post about Highway Star - great rips! There are many more above him in terms of sheer talent and instinct that have already been mentioned - Jimi ( that damn guitar was strung upside down!), Jimmy, Clapton, Carlos, Eddie, Mark Knofpler (spelling) - and that is just from the modern generation.

i couldnt say that there is a guitar god b coz there is heaps
ritchie blackmore brian may angus young joe satriani steve vai santana gary moore and jimmy page and yes i also agree with the answer about highway star that guitar solo is kickass oh yeah and we cant forget ian moss and eddie van halen

I think no one can bring it against someone like Eric Clapton. He makes some terrible music, but the dude can jam.

he likes to use too many "Intervals"...although "Highway Star" may be the best guitar song ever written.....LOVE that song
