When I get my period (or whenever my "red friend" comes over for a visit ^^ I think that's a cute way of saying it) it feels like someone's punching my uterus & it's horrible...does it hurt like that for you?

It sounds like you received a lot of good advice.
I use to have such bad cramps I would have like to cut my uterus out. I found inverting my uterus helped. You place yourself on all fours & lower you head and shoulders. Get a comfortable pillow & put your head to one side. I would do this on a couch & this helped a lot. Keep well hydrated, use a hot pat or take a warm bath & take meds. if you need them: Motrin/Ibuprofen. Zinc, calcium, and B vitamins obtained in food and supplements have been found to reduce cramps, bloating and other symptoms.
Regular exercise such as walking helps to prevent or at least reduce the severity of menstrual cramps for some women.

It's not like that for everyone, but some people experience PMS in similar ways that you described. I don't know how old you are, or how long you've been menstruating, but it can get better as you age. And on the flip side, it can get worse. A lot of young women need to get on birth control (even if you aren't sexually active) to maintain a regular period. This will sometimes alleviate the worse symptoms of having your period. I never had this problem, until I had my first child. Now, I have a lot of PMS symptoms: emotional, cramping, etc. If it gets so bad that you double over in pain, you need to go to a gynecologist and be checked. You could have cysts on your ovaries, and it would cause the extreme pain. In the meantime, take over-the-counter medication such as Motrin for the cramps. Hope this helps you.

My cramps are terrible, i can barely stand up. My sister is a pharmacist and she recommended taking Midol. The first time i took it, it was a miracle but you have to keep taking it a couple times in a day to not feel the pain.
My mom is really big on drinking FRESH vegetable juice every morning so she read in a bok that beet juice helps with menstuation pain, just like yours and mine, i tried this and it was a lot better than taking the midol but you have to drink it everyday like it is a medicine unless you like beets. Ive gotten used to it so its okay for me. but the pain really does go away significantly, that time i didnt feel a thing, nothing at all

well i hoped that helped and out of the two i would recommend drinking the beet juice even though it can be nasty.

yes i get some pretty horrible pains to, i find heating pads and a good book or movie to get the pain off your mind is the best way to deal with them!
if you don't have a heating pad a cheap and easy way to make one is to get an old sock or something and put rice or beans in it and tie it up then put it in the microwave for a minute. i don't recommend the beans though because they tend to smell kinda bad!

Yes, when Aunt Flo comes to visit, I too get bad cramps & pains in my legs, migraines.... Take some motrin & drink LOTS of water, a warm bath and plenty of laying around if ya can. Good luck! If it gets too unbearable go see your doctor, there maybe something they can give you to ease the pain.

You're not the only one!! I get horrible cramps on my lower right side, and I don't even have an ovary there anymore! Oh well, only about 15 more years of it and I'm done...sigh...

I find that exercise helps...a little.

My heart goes out to all women who experience menstral pain like you are describing. Take large doses of ibuprofen (Motrin).
