Inspiration comes from seeing a thing anew. You see the same sun everyday since you are born, then one day you close your eyes and feel it warm. You see it anew without looking. That is the fountainhead of inspiration.

I think it has to do with awareness. For years you pass the same picture or tree or what have you and you never really 'see' it. What caused you to see it this time? Why is it that since the dawn of time apples have been falling off trees and occasionally hitting people on the head but it took Newton to wonder why? I think as animals we are inherently curious and strive to analyse and figure out the world around us. Richard Dawkins coined the term meme as a spiritual equivalent to gene and explained how it is propagated in the world.
Perhaps the Eureka moments are spiritual evolutionary jumps we make. Just as the development of the eyeball was a spectacular leap forward, so too was the advent of Jello, or better yet, freshly brewed coffee. It only has to happen once and it changes everything.
Why does it happen when it does and what are the triggers? Can it be predicted and controlled? It is important that it is never controlled. It is what makes us human and is among the most critical building blocks of culture and society. To try and control it, calculate it, put it in a bottle would be to live in a Brave New World.

Inspiration is what you make of it. Everyone sees things differently. I may see a duck on a pond that I think is breathtakings and feel the need to paint it or write a poem when all you may see is a mangy bird on a scummy pond. Its how you perceive things, your moods give anything artistic quality.
I'm inspired by my dreams, my hopes, nature, my friends, and even other writings or artwork may inspire my own creations. As someone above me said, why question something you cannot answer with any conviction? Its different for everyone. You may get inspiration from dirty, oil-slicked water. Likewise, I may see the same water and think Wal-Mart employees need to clean the parking lot more often. :D

My inspiration is that I want to show everyone that I can really do something. I'm a middle child so I get less attention, so I have to show my family that I could do something as great as them, and get me some positive attention. I try my hardest to do what i'm good at which is play basketball, love, respect, read and write. My teachers love me withe my great report card 4 a's 2 B's and i'm still trying to do my best so I am not just looked upon but looked up to for my skills.
And thats basically my inspiration.

Inspiration comes from your heart. It comes from what you truly love. The moment you look at something and have a revelation is a moment when you have transcended your perception of the world and gained a new awareness of your purpose. For each it is different, for the world takes all kinds of people not just as a figure of speech. Mine, well thats a difficult thing to answer...I'd say it is to find meaning in discord.

It comes from being aware and conscious of what's around you. You never know when inspiration will hit you. You might see something during the day and suddenly, just as you're falling asleep, you are inspired.
One of the best times to let your mind wander, open to random thoughts, is just before going to sleep.

Inspiration can come from any where.Reading biography of a successful businessman, rags to riches stories are few examples. What to say Robert Bruce got inspiration to fight from spider.Inspiring speech is another example. But inspiration is got only when you are tuned, receptivity is most importantI. It is basically response of the mind to external forces or factors.Inspiration depends on condition of mind.If a person is desperate and total pessimist ,perhaps nothing can inspire him.

At about 24 I was wandering through life, angry and unfullfilled..Took a job working with emotionally disturbed kids.@14-15. One night while finding out the case histories of these kids ( 6 months before we were allowed to see backgrounds ) I realized how lucky I was. I just lost all my inner anger, and vowed to become a great parent someday..I now have 5 grown children and am happy.

yes, back in 1997, when i was married and out of my immediate worries of life, i started thinking about my purpose of life. i analysed myself and the world around me. since, i was an internet techy, so i thought to launch something via web for the world around me to get education for free without spending any money except an internet conection. And I made a website in Urdu language and English language about Islamic way of life i.e. www.qurango.com . Today, it is very popular and I can die peacefully having done something purposefully. All of this was inspired by the life of Muhammad (pbuh) and my own skillset.

to me, inspiration is a motivating factor... I am inspired to action by something. I have been inspired to do many things by many things, for example, I am inspired to take better care of my health now that I am a grandmother
