Why are you hurt by it? They're idiots. Why do you care what idiots think? Think about it -- if you listen to what idiots have to say, you're just wasting your time listening to them be stupid. Also, you're letting the idiots think that what they have to say is valid, which is bad. You see, if you let idiots think that what they're saying is right, they'll feel encouraged to speak up more, then they're wasting EVERYONE'S time with their stupidity. The last thing this world needs is more idiots talking.

I think some of it has to do with the fact you're new to the country you're in. See, they're actually saying local slang -- they're not saying "She's an Iranian, she must be a terrorist" when they say that, they're actually saying, "I'm an idiot and I don't know anything." The next time they say it, point that out to them -- "So you're saying you're an idiot?" When they keep talking, kindly reply with, "I'm sorry, I'm not from here. You keep saying I'm a terrorist, but all I hear is that you're ignorant. We obviously have a failure to communicate." If they keep talking after that, just say, "Nope-- still having communication problems. I still hear you telling me what an idiot you are. Why don't you stop talking? Do you want me to keep thinking you're an idiot? Seriously, the more you speak, the more I'm starting to think you have the mind of a retarded child."

In other words, treat them like idiots.

I'd just say to ignore it. Such people are basically idiots- confrontation might just urge them on. As long as they don't do anything worse than just mentioning such a thing in conversation, it shouldn't affect you overly much. If they start outrightly bullying you, though, then you should definitely attempt to confront them.

Of course, they might not be trying to be racist. They could be attempting at the same humor as the comedian Carlos Mencia, who is becoming more popular and tells mostly jokes playing on stereotypes. Considering the details to this question, I doubt that this is the case, but it's always good to be open-minded to possibilities.

But, just remember that they're idiots if they think something like that. Most smart people will obviously be able to see that it's a lie anyway, so it should only really weed out the true idiots and those who are a bit above them on the intellectual chain. It's not like you probably want such racist people to be your friends anyway, right?

(Sorry if my response doesn't help; I've never personally encountered this problem, so I'm basically just treating it like any situation where people would blindly judge others without any evidence behind accusations.)

I suggest you listen to the gentleman who explained how to deal with those who show you hate. We all turn to God to show us how to deal with the difficult times in our lives, it is part of the love that God gives us. Do not let others take you from the path of love and calm thought. This will not be the last time you will deal with this, it will not go away. Neither will God.

A long time ago my Grandmother told me "always let the wolves howl, then you know where they are" You don't need to confront them, but if you cannot come to an understanding with them, at least you now know how these people are, and can spend your time and caring with people besides them.

by responding to their ignorance they are winning. defintely don't get into a fight with them. you could approach them in a peaceful manner and mention you heard them talking about you. then ask them why they would accuse you of being a terrorist. racism is a terrible form of ignorance. also make a point of telling them their statements hurt you. i'm sorry that you have had this experience. sadly they are thinking this way because their parents are talking this way. it's a never ending cycle. i hope the rest of your experiences while you are here are much better than this one.

The solution is quite simple actually.
1. Control your emotions.
2. Be nice to the girls and show them compassion and act professionally with them.
3. Avoid confrontation.

A time will come when the girls will turn the tables around. They will see the racist as the real extremist and not you.
Boys won't help because they don't have enough balls.

As a Muslim, you can never feel hurt. Here is why... Our Prophet (pbuh) was hated a lot and instead of being angry, He (saw) always showed mercy and stepped forward to help the one who hated Him (saw).

Always remember, that the one who hates you, does that for a reason. Try to find out that reason and try to learn as much as possible about the reasons and causes behind their hate. And then present your case to them wisely and with all logics possible. IF you can't stop them, simply IGNORE them and go on with your life as usual. And if you think you are not as powerful as a Muslim should be, try to change the college and study at home or at another place where such hatred is not as common as it is there.

This is so unfair.

You can only be yourself and let people see that you're just like they are.

You love your family, you want to do well in school, you like to laugh, you can be a good friend, you like to have fun.

In other words let them see you really no different. The ones who are true racists are going to be that way no matter what you do.....try to ignore them.

tell them you feel hurt and are not a terrorist. They're even bigger of a jerk if they ignore you or say something stupid. You could try. But this is a tough situation.

aaawww, well I think you really should be confident and show them that you can be better then them!!!
Are they your friends or just some random classmates?
You could just tell them straigt in the face exacly what you think of them and what you don't like and let THEM deal with it, and be left with a feeling of quilt!!!!
Good luck!!

You can not change them. I was teased, I regret letting those jerks distract me from my goals.

I guess all I can say is should be almost done with remedial school so don't let them distract them from your goals.

You will not have to deal with them soon.
