ok the bunny ranch is waaayyyy off the strip, not even the same county because PROSTITUTION IS NOT LEGAL IN LAS VEGAS!!!
anyway... off strip shopping: premium outlet mall on grand central parkway. or the galleria mall in henderson
boca park in summerlin, it's on charleston, near tenaya. (pricey stores mostly)
eating: paymon's at maryland parkway and flamingo. its also a hookah lounge and it has a little shop. it's medditeranean food, and not very expensive, you could spend less than $20 for lunch.
outdoors: red rock has hiking, a visitors center that has turtles (open until 4) and a scenic drive. it's $5 per car, follow charleston west out of LV its will be on the right after awhile.
valley of fire has interesting state park type stuff, go up 15N until you see the exit for it. (maybe $6)
if you like guns you could see if there's a gun show at cashman center, they have them there often. i think it's $20 to get in.
there's football games at UNLV
the car races at the speedway...
and the usual bowling, movies, stuff like that, that every town has.
the liberace museum is off the strip... i think its on trop.
look up nevada ghost towns, there's a whole bunch of them.
that's all i have...

Hover Dam is about 30 -45 minutes away and it's a nice drive. It's worth seeing once. You can go for free but they offer a tour not sure on the price.

Here's a site: http://lasvegas.com/traveltips/index.html Try Red Rock, which is new; or Green Valley Ranch. You can also try Hoover Dam or visit Boulder City.

IN addition to valley of Fire, Hoover Dam (amazing view), Mountain,
Please consider taking a tour to Grand canyon, it is 4 hours away, but certainly worth it. If you decided on it, look for coupon. In May 2005, I paid $70 or $75 per person.
