I need some more ideas for my term paper. My working thesis is "The protest music of the 1960s civil rights movement unified the black community." I don't know if what I have will come out to 10 pages. This is my informal outline:
1. Intro: Protest music as a global phenomenon, thesis statement
2: Background information about the civil rights movements
3: Songs, their meanings
4. Singers and their connections to the civil rights movements:
-SNCC freedom singers, Mahalia Jackson, Fannier lou Hamer, CORE, Willie Peacock
5. Person experiences with protest music: plannign on asking my grandparents what songs they sung, why, how did it make them feel
6. Where songs were sung: Marches, Funerals (MLK and other civil rights activists)
7. How whites responded to the protest songs.

I am really horrible at organization. If anyone can help me put some order to this, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, if anyone has sources that I could go to more information, I would be greatful!

it seems well organized to me,,,,, with what you have, and making the songs part 3 pages, and your conclusion,, you should have 10 pages,,,,as you write about the songs , in step 3. you could include some info about the composer of the song,,,,, and a few important lines of the lyrics,,, the way i always organized myself, is to make a page for each topic, in this case 1-10, start writing on each page, about that topic,,
that will give you your 10 pages,,, as you near finishing you paper,, you will see which areas you need to strecth , and which perhaps cut down on,,,, each topic probably wont come out exactly as a whole page,, but roughly it should,,,, this also helps you keep your paper balanced,,,, you dont want two pages about one thing, and only half a page about something else,,,,,
ps: i would put two songs on each page,,, if you can find enough info/have enough to say about it, othewise put 3

this site has some good info

The Iowa caucus isn't fairly a vote. Only approximately one hundred,000 men and women take part. What's the populace of Iowa? Things like caucuses and primaries are only a puppy and pony exhibit for the Parties. You will consider that there aren't any Primary elections within the Constitution.
