Get the Palm TX. It has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a big screen. It also can view videos/pictures, let you listen to music, use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files, and rotate its view. You can find it here:

PALM. It can't hold as much, but let me tell ya! It's a lot better. Anyone can use it, and it's a geek's best friend. The main thing the iPod has that a Palm Tungsten E2 ($200) doesn't have is a hard drive (I've heard ipods break because of this, though.), and the ability to play movies with music-quality sound. The E2 can play videos, but the quality isn't good enough for music. Good enough for TV shows, though!
What can an E2 do that the iPod can't? The E2 (And handhelds more expensive than it) can download free programs off the internet, it can play NES games (Using LJP), It keeps track of all your stuff, and much, much more! It even has Bluetooth if you need it.
Add $100 to the E2's price and you can surf the web at a WiFi hotspot and get an awesome big screen in addition to the E2's features on the Palm TX. Add $100 to the TX to get a LifeDrive, which uses a hard drive similar to an iPod mini's, and includes a voice recorder along with all the TX's features..
If you want to play all you can play on an iPod, a Tungsten E2 (Or other Palm of higher price) can play it all! If it won't let you play iTunes music (Curse you Apple!), burn a CD of your iTunes music, then rip it with Windows Media Player (Or another program) as an MP3, then load it up to your Palm!
I have a TX and I really enjoy it!

ipods dont have internet capablility and no office products. so all you can do with your ipod is look at a calandar watch movies and listen to music and you can sync it to your computer to recieve podcasts.
if you go with a palm (i suggest a treo) then you get everything you want to do.
treos (and most palms) can surf the net
use office products such as word excel powerpoint
watch movies
listen to music
play games
and if you get the treo
you can make phone calls
text message
take pictures
record movies
its endless what you can do with a treo
so buy either a palm or a palm treo 650 or higher and you wont be disapointed

Agree with Lucipher on iPod being a waste comment, utterly; other than iTunes, everything iPod has is eclipsed by a PDA; lowliest of current generation of devices of all things, whoever says PDAs don't do video obviously has not looked at neither Palm OS 5 nor Windows Mobile, in fact with that kind of budget you can get a good and currently top-of-the-line mobile video player with a respectable accessories to go with it. But it has to be a PDA.
Apple is coming out with iTV but I would not hold breadth for it, at least months away and on paper it is no more than Zune and Zune itself merely catches up with its Windows Mobile Media Edition brethren.
The first and second requirements already guarantees whatever you choose at the end it is gotta be a PDA.

Maybe an ipod, but i personally think they are wastes of money. I have an mp3 player that holds like 300 songs and i dont have it filled up. I think you should get a palm.

Go IPOD!!!! I've had Palm for years but they are not keeping up with the new technology. Get yourself the New Video Ipod. You won't regret it. I suggest going to www.cnet.com and look over the website for consumer reviews of each Ipod and competing products. It's a great site for any electronics. Also, look at www..epinions.com. You'll get the real scoop from current owners. I'm in a competition for points with friends so "Best Answer" would really help me out. Thanks and Happy Holidays.
