y=mx+b
since there is no number in front of the x that means it is 1, so the slope is 1.

it is NOT -1, just put the equation into any graphing calculator or software and see the results yourself.

the slope is 1 if x=5 then y=2 and if x=8 then y=5 if you make the graph it should = 3/3 witch is the same as 1/1

the general form is y=mx+c (c is the y intercept)
so slope = - coefficient of x / coefficient of y
slope= -1
It is not 1 as others have written iam sure the slope is -1
