A few options here with a common theme.

He has either said or done something so wrong that he has gone into the forest to hide.

He is in the right forest at the wrong time

He is at the forest at the right time but it is the wrong forest

He is in the right forest at the right time but stood by the wrong tree.

He either said that the bum did look big in that dress or pointed out a grey-hair/wrinkle and has been bundled into the back of the car, blindfolded and taken to the depth of the forest and dumped there to think about just how wrong he was.

Just because he is hiding out in the forest it doesn't mean he's not wrong... it just means that he can't face the fact that he was wrong. So he'll go hide out in the forest with his buddies complaining, and finally he'll find some excuse to use for being wrong.

Yes. That's like asking if a mime is in the forest and there is no one there to hear him, does he scream?

LOL

If he's married and woman in question is his wife, you know he's still wrong--this is the voice of experience speaking.

Yes, because eventually he will meet one, but while he's in the woods he won't hear a nagging sound.
