The US society has an unresolved history of race relation problems.

We pre-judge one another very rapidly upon first meeting, using the tiniest of clues. Skin colour is easy to see and use, even though it's a poor way to prejudge. In countries where people have not yet learned to be colour-blind, race & ethnicity will continue to be important.
