i have a HUGE masterlock on my trunk in my room and i lost the key. it has a number where the key hole is (No.17). can i call masterlock and have them send me that key to unlock it? are there kits or tools out there i can use? a booklet/manual? i called a locksmith and they want to charge 60. way too much

done that before I called master lock with the lock # and they gave me the combo ofer the phone they should be able to send you a key if not bolt cutters

Cheaper to rent a bolt cutter and cut it off. Masterlock will not send you a key as they don't know you aren't trying to enter someone else's property. Or you could buy another lock with the same key and try it.

See link. Depends how determined you are and how much time you want to spend on it, might be cheaper to shop around for a locksmith. It's a trade and not something you can pick up in a few minutes. The tools alone will cost you more.

Either pay for the locksmith - or you can rent a lock/bolt cutter (probably for the same amount of money).

Bolt cutters or a hack saw. Both require muscle and determination.

take a hamer and knock off the bolt. most people use oversize locks for relatively small size bolts
