This is going to piss people off but I dont think they should'nt. For one of course they will vote for the candidate that promises them more welfare. So its gonna cost you more money to keep them on welfare. Why should they get off the publics dollar when they can vote for more money? If I was on welfare I would love it. Just vote for people that will support me
Second if someone who is on welfare should they be allowed to have kids? Once again the tax payer will end up supporting the kids and family. How about saying you can't vote and cant have kids while on welfare. Once you get off welfare then you can get those back. And if you have a kid while on welfare it should be given up for adoption.

I agree that if you are on welfare you shouldn't have kids. If you can't support yourself, then how are you going to support anyone else?

You know, welfare is being stripped away from the unemployed and lower working class yet more and more welfare is being given to the middle and upper classes.

Notice how people only get upset when the poor people receive welfare but everyone is supposed to be happy and cheerful when the wealthy lot get free money?

What about this - only those who refuse to take any money in any form whatsover are allowed to vote.

That would eliminate atleast 98% of voters. What, it's a stupid idea? Hmm, just as sensible as the proposal put up by the questioner and other such idiots.

Not everyone that is on welfare wants to be on it, first of all. Everyone has a right to vote no matter what your financial status is. The people that use the system to ride on don't go and vote because that isn't important to them. You shouldn't judge people like that because you may wake up tomorrow and have nothing. You may have no choice but to be on welfare and believe me I know quite of few people that were pretty well off until life took a left turn. Then you ask if they should have kids. They are not dogs. What do you want to do neuter them? Some people don't choose to be on welfare. I had friends in college that had a child and they needed that little help temporary until they graduated. It sounds like you might need to be educated on low income people. Do some volunteer work at a community kitchen or recreational center or any agency that helps single parent families or low income families. You would definitely look at people differently.

More people are off than on welfare, so let them vote. There are more important things to vote on than public assistance anyway. Maybe these people will vote for things that will help get them off welfare, like lower education costs, fair credit reporting, and inflation control.
It's true, some women have children to qualify for or extend their welfare. If they were forced to put their babies up, and they weren't adopted, (many minority and disabled babies aren't) tax payers will pay to support them.

Their are more socially aceptable ways to get people off welfare, such as the welfare-to-work program.

criminals cannot vote, but being poor is not a crime.

I will admit that there are a lot of people who abuse the welfare system, however there are families out there who really need the help. and welfare doesnt just let you sit there and collect money either, they make you go to classes like "work first" that encourage you to find work. they also help you hunt for jobs and provide you with nice clothes that help you get a job.

as for having children although it may not be fair to the child growing up on welfare, its not our place to tell someone they can have kids or not. just because you dont have a lot of money doesnt mean you cant love your child as much as anyone else.

people seem to think that the low income families on welfare are lazy and underserving of help, and although that might be true, its not always the case and the state does their best to make sure deserving families get the help they need and the lazy ones are forced to work for their "free handout"

Should corporation owners be allowed to vote and have kids?
This is going to piss people off but I dont think they should. For one of course they will vote for the candidate that promises them more tax cuts and grants, and then the tax money for other things like roads and health care will have to be disproportionately borne by the lower economic classes. So its gonna cost you more money to keep them on corporate welfare. Why should they get off the publics dollar when they can vote for more money? If I was on corporate welfare I would love it. Just vote for people that will support me and protect my business from competition or unions that protect the workers and make corporations pay them more.
Second if someone who is on corporate welfare should they be allowed to have kids? Once again the tax payer will end up deprived of legitimate tax money when the parents shift assets into the names of their minor children to escape taxation. And while lower income families support the local economies by spending all their money domestically, rich families have the audacity to spend it in other countries, which doesn't help our economy at all. And we all know busy business owners use nannies to raise their kids, who end up screwed up and in need of therapy.
How about saying you can't vote and cant have kids while using tax shelters, owning a corporation and /or receiving corporate welfare, grants, subsidies, etc. Once you become one of the regular working masses then you can get those back. And if you have a kid while stinking rich it should be given up for adoption.

Denying the vote to welfare recipients is a robust concept, yet on condition which you particularly p.c. to pretty address the subject of welfare and people who exist as wards of the state. at present, poverty and/or welfare serves a political purpose. It helps political pundits to scream that law and regulations which they do no longer help might "harm the undesirable". Claims that are many times sufficient to kill the suggestion. as nicely, the inhabitants of those on welfare is a robust balloting block, balloting ninety%+ for liberal applicants. the place is the political incentive to pretty address the subject while your political association has the assure of those votes? removing the superb to vote for those receiving government counsel might reason an instantaneous overhaul in the present crop of failed social engineering classes. An purpose which countless political operatives would not p.c. to take place.

You are right to believe people on welfare should work to get off it. However their civil rights are not suspended while they are on welfare, and it is certainly naive to say that ALL people on welfare would vote a certain way. Sometimes people are on welfare because of illness , loss of a job, or desertion by a spouse. Even YOU are allowed to vote, and you can neither spell correctly or use correct grammer..

Ok go ahead and turn me in now....
i am used to problems!

how about if we have a law that says if you sign up for welfare you have to be apointed to a public office and serve the country while you are drawing. that way we get rid of lying politicans and get something in return for our tax money that goes to pay for welfare? This way we would not have to contend with all this election b.s. and that would save billions of dollars too.
