Bailey sounds like a boys name, but not a good one though.

I knew a bartender in Georgia and HER name was Bailey. The only guy named Bailey I've ever heard of was that cutie on "Party of Five". Also my neighbor's last name is Bailey. So, it can go any way it wants to.

Bailey is likelier a family (last) name (George Bailey, Beetle Bailey, etc). As a christian (given/first) name it would seem to be more likey a boy than girl name tho. Just my 2¢.

I know of people that have named their children Bailey, both boys and girls. I think its started as a boys name, but I think its a cuter name for a girl. I think as a child, its cute either way....but as they get older, Bailey just doesn't sound so masculine.

Just my opinion, hope it helps.

The boy's and girl's name Bailey is pronounced BAY-lee. It is of Old English origin, and its meaning is "berry clearing; bailiff; city fortification." Occupational name. Initial popularity of Bailey was due to a character in the 1980s television series "WKRP in Cincinnati."

Bailey has 8 variant forms: Bailee, Baileigh, Bailie, Baily, Baylee, Bayleigh, Bayley and Baylie.

It's both, as stated in baby names database. Under boys- Bailey: a Bailliff or Administrative official. It isn't listed under girls because its not in the ( something like 100) most frequent names, but I know someone who named his daughter Bailey.

Look up the name on the Kabalarian website. Bailey, in my opinion, is a girl's name.
