I dropped a huge F-word after reading that. I feel much more depressed now.

Unfortunately, yes, it was a mistake.

Ashworth (and other non-regionally accredited "colleges" like it) present themselves to unsuspecting students as accredited by creating their own accreditation associations and being the only member of that association.

The only accreditation that counts is REGIONAL. All reputable colleges and universities in the US are regionally accredited.

The thing that drives me crazy these days is the popularity of places like U of Phoenix, AIU, and Capella. Generally, credits from these places will not transfer to any respectable institution. Because of this, distance education should, at this point, be attempted ONLY through regular state universities.
