Competition is not 'good' or 'bad.' It all depends on your perspective.

If you are selling a product or service, competition forces you to change: lower your prices, offer higher quality goods & service, etc.

If you are buying a product or service, competition gives you more choices - lower prices or better goods & services.

competition is great. Or it can be bad. Competition can drive prices. If Store A sells at $5 less than Store B, undoubtedly if Store B wants to remain in the market it will adjust price. So we win!

However if Store A and B decide that they want to raise prices together so you're paying 4 times the real worth of a product but have no choice (i.e. gasoline) we the consumer are paying for it.
