Were you able to use the promo codes? Did the Mirage allow you to use the promo code for Treasure Island?

You really don't need a car...The city bus(CAT) and hotel shuttles will take you everywhere in the valley...With your son, you might want to take into consideration the pros and cons of having a car..

Masquerade Show in the Sky Rio - special show for Christmas

Sunset Stampede - Sam's Town - The Mystic falls area is one of my favorites, they decorate for Christmas

The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace has some great shopping, even for a two year old>FAO Schwartz>Disney Store>Warner Bros

It's easy to navigate around the strip. Rental car isn't needed. However, with a 2 year old, you may find after your first day that it would be easier. If so, they are easy to find on the strip.

Most shows don't allow infants. Most hotels have reputable baby sitting services. All the shows are excellent quality, it depends on what you want or can afford to spend. Mystere at TI is fabulous. Legends in concert, a cheaper show, is also quite good and the impersonators keep changing so the show keeps changing but it's always quite good.

The shopping is also quite good. Many great malls and outlet malls but for those you would need a car.

Be sure to see the light show downtown. It's free and incredible. Plays every hour on the hour after dark. I would also catch the water show outside the Bellagio which is also free. Fountains spraying to classical music. Simply incredible.

Have a wonderful trip.

WIth a 2 year old, you will have your hands full. I do not think it is necesarry to rent a car because you can take shuttles or cab's to almost anywhere you would want to go. A lot of the hotels even have the shuttles and tram for free.
You must, first and soremost, eat at In-N-Out Burger (we don't have them where I live) Next, DO NOT waist your money on The Blue Man Group.
The M&M place is pretty cool, and the animals and such at the mirage. Circus Circus also has a free "circus" (Imagine that)
There are a ton of websites out there for ideas too.

I am going to have to disagree with the masses here, and say, rent a car. Although transportation is readily available, you will be traveling with a two year old. Do you really want to drag your child in/out of dirty cabs? Unfortunately, there isn't much to do with a two year old in Las Vegas. Many of the shows are evening shows and rather loud and long. Maybe the Lions at MGM or Mademe Toussaints Wax Musuem at the Venetian might keep the interest of a two year old. Good luck with whatever you decide.

You won't need a car, if you stay on the strip.

And frankly, LEAVE THE TWO YEAR OLD HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
