I had the worst heartburn - ended up in the hospital because of it. There's no truth to the tale. My son is as bald as the Mr. Clean man.
Hang in there, it'll be over soon enough.

I'm sorry, I have heard about heartburn being that bad... I get it occasionally for a whole day but then it goes away after that. I read about a study done a few years ago that actually proved that wive's tale is true, but one of my co-workers had horrible, horrible heartburn like you describe and her son had no hair when he came out and it's extremely thin to this day. So, it's all in what you believe I guess, or just in the genes. Good luck.

I had heartburn like crazy too and my kids had some hair but not that much, just a old wives tale.
Make sure you watch your dairy intake, it causes heartburn, especially at night.

in my opinion, this is an old wives tale. there is really no medical reason for heartburn to increase depending on the hair on your unborn baby's head! it's just a personal tendency. it could just mean that you are carrying high, which is squashing your tummy, or you have an excess amount of acid in your stomach.

I have been pregnant twice. I have had horrific heartburn twice. With my first baby, I had to sleep sitting up most of my third trimester, because Tums weren't doing a thing. Both kids were nearly bald at birth, just a little patch of peach fuzz on their heads.

Hahaha, we've been teasing the girl that sits next to me, she's in her last month of pregnancy and been having wicked heartburn, and we've been telling her that. Its strictly a tale, your womb does not attach to your stomach for any hair to upset it, the discomfort comes from the body stretching and some of the organs, as well as the baby, pushing on your stomach. When you throw up, your stomach contracts pushing the vomit up, and the slight pressure from the baby and the organs are pushing the acid up into your throat, making you uncomfortable. If they haven't told you, you can take TUMS usually, that's what she is on. Get the calcium supplement one as well. Otherwise, peanut butter is a good base to soap up the acid [I have acid reflux disease].

My cousin had wicked heartburn when she was pregnant with her twins. One's hairy as and the other almost bald. She went to the chiropractor who did some manipulation and all heartburn was gone.

NO THIS IS NOT TRUE! I had major heart burn every night before bed. My son didn't get any hair until he was over 2 years old. he got his first haircut at 3 years old, which he still didn't really need. So, yeah, it is DEFINITELY and old wives tale. Good luck!
