There is a reason that women only compete at the same level as men when machinery is involved.
Cars, Yachts, Shooting etc.
Men use their physical strength to gain an advantage.
Football (I refuse to call it Soccer) should be played fairly, but even a fair shoulder challenge would be too much for Mia. Never mind the fouling tactics.
Hypothetically, if the game was about footballing skills and fair competition, Mia Hamm would rate alongside the best males to have played the sport.
If I was a coach, I would have employed her at the top level, just to see if she could stand the pace. Because if she could it would have been worth the risk.

No chance! She was an exceptional player-- arguably the best female player so far-- but she didn't have the skills that a professional male has, and there's no way that she could manage the speed, strength, and physicality that she would need to play in a male professional league. She could probably play effectively about at the level of a top amateur men's league in a big city like London or Madrid, but even there the physicality would punish her. She only weighs 125 lbs.

Just because a woman can play soccer really good, doesn't mean she can be put on a all male team. I can just hear the reports of harassment now.

I dont think she could play soccer with the boys. Talent wise she may match up but boys play rough....she will start crying on the first hit and probably run off the field.

I know that sometimes Tony DiCiccio would arrange for the WNT to play games against male teams so that the women could play against players who were faster and stronger and sometimes they even beat these teams but they were never pro caliber.

We can't compare men and women at the top of their games. If you'd take a mediocre men's team, then maybe, she probably would have held her own. But if you'd take one of the greatest team, let's use Barca, then I'm sorry but she would have got crushed.
Would that make you feel better if I told you that I'm a woman.

Yeah, she probably would be as good if not better with the skills (dribbling, shooting, passing, etc) and if she could have adjusted to the more physical male play, she probably would have been an MLS star.
