Take a long hot shower first to soften the hair and open the pores. Exfoliate your legs once a week to keep pores clean. I like Skintimate shave gel. They have a sensitive skin formula, but I just use something that smells good. Also, use a good razor, not the cheapy pink ones. I like Silk Effects or Venus Divine. You cut yourself less with those. And take your time, the faster you shave the better chance for irritation. Make sure to rinse your legs after you shave and moisturize right after with a good chemical free lotion.

For guys, the best for body hair is not to go totally smooth, but rather just neatly trimmed. This solves three problems problems, it doesn't look as girlish, it doesn't leave in-grown hairs, and it is much faster. I'd suggest buying an electric beard or hair trimmer, and use it on a short setting.
