What is the best way to study for first-year law school exams?

I've been keeping up during the semester. My exams are closed book.

I would say for 80% of your classes, commerciall supplements. They are great. This with your casebooks, and making an outline is great. Ideally, you read the supplements throughout the semester, but oops, too late. But it ultimately depends on your prof, whether test is open or closed book, and how well you kept up during the semester.
