A mortuary science degree is usually an associate's degree, and the University of Maryland offers bachelor's degrees and above.

If you are in Maryland, the place to go for a degree in mortuary science is the Community College of Baltimore County. They offer the AAS (Associate of Applied Science) in mortuary science.

I've placed a link to their mortuary science program below.

Technically, however, you *could* take your Gen Ed requirements at the University of Maryland, and transfer them *down* to CCBC. I don't know why you would, though. Usually it goes the other way around, with community college students earning an associate's degree wanting to transfer *up* to a four year university.

In case you are unsure about what an CCBC's AAS is, it prepares a person to become a mortician, and provides the required coursework to qualify a person to take the National Board Exam.
