I'm doing a persuasive speech on the cost of college...what do you think about the price?

Yes, especially the more "prestigious" private colleges. When tuition runs over $30-40K per year, it deters lower-class students from even bothering to apply to them; or, if they do apply and get accepted, they often have to settle for another college because of inability to pay, financial aid notwithstanding. It really limits social mobility in a country that prides itself as the land of equal opportunity.

I think it's way too high. I have to pay for things that I never use. I have to pay for the gym and the internet when I don't live on campus and when I don't use their gym. I think you should pay for what you use. Plus in other countries a lot of college tuition is totally free PLUS the students get a government stipend every month. My fiance lives in Denmark and gets about 800 dollars a month to go to school.
