Keep your thoughts about others to yourself if it is negative at all.
Speak to your opinion that you don't agree or with I wouldn't handle that situation that way if I were in so and so's place.
Take sincere interest in the other friend. If that doesn't work simply have a poker face...not showing negative or trying to create jealous feelings like hanging with another and acting up when he/she is around. That just eggs people on.
Get involved in a couple different things to build your leadership skills. There are many clubs or community ways to volunteer your time and rise above the goofy stuff school peers do.

Go to the principal for school problems with other people bothering you. To solve a friendship problem is to confront the person and talk it over.
Problems with your studies see your counselor.

Honesty and Communication. Make sure you are both aware of eachother's feelings, and remind yourself why you are friends in the first place. Life without him or her? Better or worse? Is this person bringing you down or holding you up? Answer all these questions before you solve the problem and you'll be fine. Remember, communication is key.

If it's a true friend talk and try to work things out. If it's someone you really care about. TRUE friends are hard to find. Maybe you need someone else to talk with you and give you some professional idea's to help you with this problem. It wont hurt, that's for sure.. Good Luck .

I hate to quote, but honest is the best police. Be honest with your friend and present the problem as best as you can, but make sure you don't sound like you're accusing you friend of being wrong. Just relate what is bothering you and why and discuss it. It will clear the air. Good luck.

The direct approach is always the best way to resolve any problem. As long as you're honest with yourself and the one you're having the problem with, you'll never regret your actions later in life. In other words, it can't come back and bite you later.

Face to face talk. Sincere and mature talk. Not trying to make a point, but trying to really understand what your friend is saying.
