Can I have you car?? lol naa seriously, If there was absolutely nothing I could do or say to make them stop, I would just tell them how much I'd miss them.

Give him/her a detailed map of the life after life. Explain to them where to go and what to expect. And if they have enough of the currency (if they have saved any) before pursuing the journey.
The currency used there is a debit card of good deeds accumulated in this lifetime. If they havent enough, it would be a good reason to postpone their journey. And this currency has to be earned, cannot be borrowed.
About the map, there are alot of routes. I know of a few routes myself. But if you just want to go for a short visit and come back, then suicide is difinitely not it.

Those who commit suicide are at the end of their tether, in the pit
of despair and depression and can see no way out. By this stage
its difficult to show and prove to them there is a positive solution.

Things CAN get better. I was suicidal at one time and I'm so glad that I didn't do it. I would tell them to get help through a suicide helpline or friends or family.

suicide is a permanent action to a temporary problem.If you do it you have no way of knowing how things turn out.You wont be there to save someones life or help someone who needs it because you took an early exit .Utimately you not only change your future but everyone elses too.

well whatever this reason is that they want to kill themselves for....is it a temporarily problem, can it be fixed, will things get better eventually? cause if so, tell them that things will always get better. Life is full of challenges. Getting through them makes you only stronger and smarter.

you will hurt anyone who knows you
there are solutions to almost every problem- you just need to know people who can help you
things always regress toward the mean (things are very bad and then are adverage, things are very good and then are adverage again)

I would be able to tell anything, but I'd ask if they have done all they wanted to in life. Have they fufilled there dreams and desires? Made adminds?

Just ask them when have god ever failed you, or if you kill yourself today how will ever know if tomorrow will ever get better
