Darkness does not move. Only our perceptions of the way light works makes it seem as though darkness moves. It is an illusion.
This question can be answered from several points of view. Everyone is talking about darkness in everyday human terms, as the absence of light. So they are correct in saying that when light exits our view, then darkness replaces it just as fast - at the speed of light.
But light is just what we call what we can see. It is part of a spectrum of energy we call the electromagnetic spectrum. Light is a small fraction of that spectrum.
So, in the larger sense, you can EITHER say that darkness does not exist, since some form of the electromagnetic spectrum is passing through every part of the universe at all times, OR that darkness is everywhere at all times - between the waves of energy or between the particles of energy. When we perceive the energy, we say that the darkness is gone. But it is still there, hidden from us by the energy we can see.
;-D In either case, darkness has no speed, it is not moving. Only the light moves, which makes the darkness visible or invisible.

Very good question! Indeed, dark is simply the absence of light. Really, you can't say that dark has any speed at all since the dark is "nothing". You can't say that nothing travels at the speed of light, because something does....light itself!
Dark does not carry any information, so "speed" is not an attribute that can be used to describe it.

Well, darkness doesnt really have a speed, since its only the absence of light. But if I had to guess, I would say the same as light. As soon as a light goes out, dark replaces it, so why would it be any slower?

The speed of dark is as fast as you can turn a light switch off.

Dark has no speed, because dark is just the absence of light. The amount of time it takes for light to disappear is the speed of light. The speed of light is 299,792.458 km/s.

Well, dark actually is not something that exists...its really just the absence of light. Its kind of like how you don't "get cold" you just lose heat. So..the speed of dark is how fast light is depleted from an area.

I guess there is no speed of dark...although I realized it right now that there might be..hmm..if there is a speed of light then there is supposed to be a speed of dark, right? I think it goes faster that light speed...

there is none..... unless the time it takes for a light bulb to turn from on to off (which would be basically the same as the speed of light)
