Gosh, you've picked a great pattern! Wash and press your fabric carefully. Use a little bit of starch once you're sure you've got the grain straight. This will help hold the bias edges as you begin making the bazillion little triangles needed. Marsha McCloskey has a couple of good books that give tips and tricks. Perhaps your local public library or quilt guild has some of her books to loan. Good luck!
